The Truth About Our Food....
If there is anything that I have come to realize in my journey of being healthy, it is that our health is in our OWN hands, and our food makes all the difference. What is unfortunate however, is that the major food companies that have gained so much power over the years are not feeding us for health, they are feeding us for PROFIT. Marketing tactics have become facts and the truth about our food has been buried under PAID research studies and the never ending desire for larger and larger profit margins. Knowledge is power and we must be willing to take that power back into our own hands!
I began to understand this once I started speaking to my naturopaths about nutrition and reading tons of books. I had been taking Structured silver water for some time at this point, and it became clear to me that treating alignments was important, but also giving my immune system the building blocks of nutrition is what creates lasting change. Our body needs nutrients that are ALIVE so our cells are nourished at the cellular level.
This is where Superfoods come in!
WHY SUPERFOODS?
You see, most of the foods that we get in grocery stores are lacking the density of nutrients that our bodies require to regenerate, sustain and heal. Then, when we take our food through the process of cooking, the heat often kills anything that may be of most benefit to our body.
Superfoods are LIVING foods. They have been harvested at a time when the most nutrients are available, then cold pressed to keep those nutrients alive and available for our body to digest.
The sun energy is kept in the nutrients giving your body as much light frequency as possible.

Medicinal Mushrooms
Medicinal mushrooms have been around in Eastern medicine for thousands of years. Best taken as powders, you will find many varieties of medicinal mushrooms have antioxidant properties, cardiovascular protection, antibacterial properties, and anti-inflammatory properties. They are a great and simple addition to most smoothies, hot beverages, stir-fries or breakfast bowls. What I love so much about medicinal mushrooms is that many act as adaptogens in our body. What that means is that they help your body respond to stress, anxiety or fatigue by supporting your systems to find their way back to natural balance. It's as though they act as an army of protectors, constantly surveying and monitoring your level of physical and mental stressors and helping your body respond accordingly. What a superfood!
Here are some examples of medical mushrooms and what they do:
* Struggle with Anxiety? Reishi is like nature's Xanax!
* Experiencing brain fog? Lion’s Mane can help bring you mental clarity and focus.
* Feeling inflammation in your body? Chaga is an antioxidant powerhouse. It combats oxidative stress and helps fight the aging process!
* Need a little boost for a workout or just to get through the day? Cordyceps are an absolute fave. With their ability to increase blood flow throughout the body, they stimulate energy and even help increase your libido!

Spirulina
Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that grows in both fresh and saltwater environments. Its resilience fosters the various nutrients and antioxidants that help support our body and brain functioning. Packed with nutrients, including B complex vitamins, beta-carotene, vitamin E, manganese, zinc, copper, iron, selenium, and gamma linolenic acid (an essential fatty acid), this superfood is like nature’s multivitamin that is easily absorbed into the body. Research finds that spirulina can support the production of white blood cells and antibodies that fight viruses and bacteria in your body.

Maca is known to be an adaptogenic plant, assisting your nervous system with its management of stress, and helps to provide a shot of energy in a healthy and balanced way. Chlorella
Chlorella is a type of algae that grows in freshwater and is rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber. Because of its impeccable source of iron AND Vitamin C (helps with the absorption of iron), it is often used to prevent low levels of iron during pregnancy and is known to help ease menstrual cramps! High in antioxidants, omega 3s, magnesium, zinc, copper, potassium, calcium, folic acid and other B vitamins, this is no doubt a wonderful superfood that keeps the body balanced, healthy and happy.
Monk fruit sweetener
Monk Fruit sugar is hands down one of my favorite natural sweeteners that can be added to any recipe where you would normally use sugar. Because monk fruit sugar is metabolized differently than regular sugar, it doesn’t affect your blood sugar levels, keeping your energy consistent and avoiding hunger spikes throughout the day. This superfood is anti-inflammatory, doesn’t cause cavities and may help fight cancer. My sweet tooth AND my metabolism are always happy with this one!
